Coke Studio @ MTV (Mumbai, IN)

Please take a listen to the songs I helped, arrange, perform, record and produce.

Zariya - AR Rahman, Ani Choying, Farah Siraj

Giving a whole new spin to the term 'world music' -- A.R.Rahman spins his magic on an absolute scorcher, featuring Jordanian singer --Farah Siraj along with Nepalese Buddhist Nun Ani Choying. With the traditional Nepalese Buddhist hymn forming the base of the song, layered with a traditional Jordanian melody, and bridged seamlessly with composition written by A.R.Rahman, this song truly brings together diverse cultures and musical genres. Everything from the background vocals to Sivamani's percussion takes a big leap across musical styles and creates a storm of inspired rhythms, to give this track that extra flavour. Completely based around the theme of motherhood, compassion & ultimately happiness, this is the very first track of what promises to be an unforgettable Season 3 of CS@MTV!

Jagao Mere Des Ko - A.R Rahman, Suchi, Blaaze

A.R Rahman creates the perfect tune for this Independence Day, fusing opposing styles of music and talent like only he can! Only the talent of the scale of A.R Rahman can find a middle ground, to introduce a heavily carnatic - influenced rhythm section, sitting under a funky guitar line -- all of which plays under the powerful vocals of Suchi & Blaaze. Together it creates a soundscape like nothing you've heard before. Witness this magic on Coke Studio@MTV -- Season 3.

Soz O Salaam - A.R Rahman, Padmabhushan Ustad Ghulam Mustafa Khan

Another masterpiece of sublime vocal arrangements of 3 generations, this track sees Padmabhushan Ustad Ghulam Mustafa Khan deliver a beautiful Hindustani classical vocal with his sons Murtuza Mustafa, Qadir Mustafa, Rabbani Mustafa, Hasan Mustafa and grandson Faiz Mustafa. ARR adds a touch of genius with his deft fingers on the continuum fingerboard. Catch the entire video only here!

Naan Yen - A.R Rahman, Rayhanah

One of the most melodic masterpieces from A.R Rahman's set this year on Coke Studio@MTV -- Season 3. This one is sung by him along with his sister Rayhanah. It explores an interesting lyrical theme of existentialism, where man wonders why he was born and what role he is expected to fulfill through life.

Ennile Maha Oliyo - A.R Rahman, Rayhanah, Issrath Quadhri

Sung in the voices of his sisters Rayhanah and Issrath Quadhri; A.R Rahman has written this composition especially for them. At once sublime and characteristic of a Rahman song, this song titled 'Ennile Maha Oliyo' which translates to 'Light Within', truly resonates beauty. It is rarely seen of two female voices to unite and soar with such melody, and on these lyrics written by poetess and doctor, Kutti Revathi, we see exactly that. One of the more exciting tracks to look forward to from AR Rahman's set, this year on Coke Studio@MTV -- Season 3.

Aao Balma - A.R Rahman, Padmabhushan Ustad Ghulam Mustafa Khan

This composition by A.R Rahman is 'legendary' in more than one way -- the composition is a masterclass in fusing the traditional power of Hindustani classical vocals, with Carnatic scales few have mastered. For this, it brings together the beautiful voice of Ustad Ghulam Mustafa Khan, accompanied by his sons and grandson; with the guitar genius of Prasanna trading blows with Sivamani's explosive percussion. This one will literally blow you away!
